Print Your Year

Print your Year

The new year always feels full of new possibilities and opportunity; it’s also the perfect time to reflect on progress, accomplishments, and print photos from last year. If you are starting from scratch, scrapbooking and keeping track of prints can feel daunting. We’ve been preserving memories for over 13 years, and have created these 5 photo recap solutions to help you get started. Make this year the best one yet and get a head start in documenting your memories!

A collage is a simple, streamlined way to print and display your photos in one design. Our collages are easy to fill out and come in a variety of size options. We have specially designed the brand new Year In Review Collage to hold 12 photos that highlight your favorite moments from the past year. This design comes in nearly every print size from 8×10 to an oversized 24×36 print!

We also have several other options to choose from if you want a design that holds more photos. A fan-favorite is the Instagram Collage, which holds 96 photo slots! These larger prints make for a great focal point in a gallery wall. There are many smaller design options, such as the 8×10 design that looks great on a desk or shelf.

Pro Tip: Utilize the Apple and Google Photo features that can easily create albums for you. Next, log into your Persnickety Prints account and upload those albums to make completing this project a breeze!

One of the most popular ways to document your year is by creating a “Family Yearbook”! By taking the time to collect your family’s year of experiences in book form, you’ll create a memento that you will enjoy looking back on every year.

For those who enjoy digital scrapbooking, we recommend our fan favorite memory pages. These classic 12×12 collage prints will fit perfectly inside standard 12×12 photo albums, and our website’s design software helps you to easily curate your yearly photo recap.  We also offer smaller sized memory pages in 10×10 and 8×8 for those who use smaller photo albums. Whether you are starting a scrapbook for the first time or updating your designs to be digital, these versatile memory page templates let you take control of your creativity and create something meaningful to look back on.

If you enjoy traditional multi-media scrapbooking, or using pocket page albums, our smaller sized photographic prints from 3×4 to 6×8 are a great fit for a family yearbook. These sizes are large enough to see key details, and are affordable enough to print all the memories you want to remember.

Family yearbook scrapbook pages become treasures that tell the story of your family’s birthdays, achievements, and milestones as you document your year.

Soft Cover Photo Book >

While we always recommend photo albums over photo books for your primary method of memory keeping, having photo books is a fun way to remember specific events in your life. We love creating photo books to commemorate specific vacations like your recent family roadtrip to Yosemite National Park. Another great option is to highlight events that are important to your family, like religious ceremonies, extended family reunions, or graduations.

Our Soft Cover Photo Books are the perfect option for those longer stories that can fill many pages.  The smooth spine on these photo books make them a beautiful addition to a bookshelf or coffee table, and having them out on display will inspire conversations and reminiscing.

If the the event you want to highlight can be captured in a few pages, we recommend our Wire Bound Photo Books. These photo books can be made with as few as 10 pages, and can open completely flat on a table top. Our page layouts include collages for photos that look best grouped together, full page photo boxes to spotlight those epic shots, and longer text boxes if you want to include a detailed memory.

A memory book is proof of a fun-filled childhood, so give your kid a version they can easily flip through. These printed pictures will help your child remember their trip to DisneyLand where they ate their weight in churros and met Pluto.

Custom Junk Journal Bingo Card
Custom Journal >

Creating a junk journal is a fun and creative ways to document your year! This method is less structured than other types of scrapbooking or custom photo books.  Your creativity can soar!

If you don’t already have a one to use, you can create a custom journal with a cover that you design! We love the idea of reflecting on your year, and creating something that embodies your experience.

The next step is to print your camera roll. Organize your photos by date in your photo app and create an album of all the photos this year you would like to print. When you send your photos to print, we recommend using our photo strips for monthly recaps, retro prints for stand out moments, and our mini photo prints for everything else you want to remember.

As you assemble your junk journal, take your time and let your creativity flow!! Junk journaling is an opportunity to reflect, write out your thoughts, and open your mind to using unconventional items in creative ways. Also in our opinion, the more receipts, scraps of paper, and stickers you include, the better. Remember to have fun with it!

Bonus: If you fall in love with junk journaling, jump in and prepare for this year! Write down a few goals, create a small bingo card, or print a few of our free affirmations to manifest your dreams into reality.

photo boxes

Not ready to create a photo album? Still take the time to free your photos from your phone, and print what you want to remember! Your future self will thank you.

A popular way to store loose photo prints is with a photo box. Prints can either wait inside to be used at a later time, or it can be a permanent storage solution when paired with labels that document times, places, and people.  However these photo boxes have traditionally been out of paper or cardboard which can attract bugs and are more susceptible to damage. An easy upgrade to the old “shoebox” storage system is having a modern photo box to house all your memories in one place.

If you enjoy digital scrapbooking and need large photo print storage, we recommend these 12×12 photo boxes for their simple, portable design. This photo box size is great for scrapbook pages and various photo print sizes, up to 12×12If you use the traditional 4×6 photo scrapbooking sizes, we also recommend these 4×6 photo cases that nestle into a larger craft box.

A photo box is an easy, safe way to store each year’s prints and mementos. Easily organize photos for the entire family by trip, year, or create a photo box for each person.

We love seeing all the memories our customers share with us in the projects you create! There is an exciting energy in the new year and we’re thrilled to help you all year long. Be sure to tag us @persnicketyprints and share your yearly photo recaps with us!
